Description

Guan Xin Su He Wan (Coronary Styrax Pill), from the Zhong Hua Ren Min Gong He Guo Yao Dian (Pharmacopoeia of People's Republic of China) — a variation of Su He Xiang Wan.

Actions: Opens the orifices with aromatic herbs; Activates qi circulation; Relieves pain.

Composition: Batch quantities for 1,000 pills.

Cautions:

  • Qing Mu Xiang (Radix Aristolochiae), in the original 1977 citation, contains aristolochic acid and has been replaced by Tu Mu Xiang

Preparation

Powder Ru Xiang, Tan Xiang and Tu Mu Xiang; grind Bing Pian separately and sift together. Mix Su He Xiang into heated honey, add the powders and form 1,000 pills. Hold 1 pill under the tongue or chew before swallowing, one to three times daily; may also be taken at bedtime or as needed.
