Description

Ban Xia Shu Mi Tang (Pinellia and Millet Decoction), from Divine Pivot (probably later Han dynasty).

Associated formula of Gan Mai Da Zao Tang.

Actions: Dispels phlegm; Clears away filth; Establishes communication between yin and yang

Indications: Insomnia due to phlegm and dampness obstructing the middle burner so that the yang cannot enter the yin

Pattern: Phlegm-dampness obstructing the middle burner causing insomnia

Usage: For insomnia from middle-burner phlegm-damp obstruction; often combined with Grand Communication Pill (jiao tai wan).
